Reliability analysis of the Baggage Handling System (BHS), T3 Terminal, IGI Airport, New Delhi, India.
The T3 terminal, IGI Airport, New Delhi, India was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This terminal has a Baggage Handling System (BHS) that has a throughput of more than 11,300 baggage per hour. Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) had awarded Siemens Mobility a contract to supply BHS. Siemens was to design the BHS as per the Reliability specifications. Siemens had engaged Reliability Centre India to provide the following Reliability Engineering services:-
(a) Reliability Prediction and Analysis based on Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) technique.
(b) Failure Mode, Effects, Analysis and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Seminar on GD&T
Reliability Centre India held a seminar at Bangalore on fundamentals of GD&T. Some of the topics covered include the following:-
(a) GD&T Terms Defined
(b) Features and Dimensioning conventions
(c) Circular tolerance zones. Separation of Basic sizes and tolerances defined in frames
(d) Tolerancing Principles, concepts of LMC, MMC and RFS
(e) Datum Referencing
(f) True Geometric counterparts and datum feature simulators. Restrained v/s Unrestrained TGC
(g) Pattern Locating Tolerance Zone Framework (PLTZF) & Feature
(h) Relating Tolerance Zone Framework (FRTZF)
